Comments?

Durso’s supposed to email me comments on my outline.

HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT TO BET THAT HE’LL SAY ON TUESDAY: “Oh, yeah… um… I-I didn’t, well, couldn’t, get to it. Um… yeah, I’m really sorry…”

He’s so strange sometimes. All I know is that I want my essay back, dang-it! For Tuesday I have a rough draft to write.

Monday: No drawing hw due. | Quiz in AH.
Tuesday: Rough draft for writing due. | Photograph for 2-D due; depth image due.
Wednesday: Truncated cubes for 3-D due. | Final version of musical instrument due for FGDP.
Thursday: Read for AH.
Friday: Final paper due for writing. | ALL kite models AND photograph due in 3-D.

I have to go see a movie for writing. The problem is, I don’t remember what movie it is I have to see. =(

EDIT: It’s called The Darjeeling Limited…  What a DUMB name.  XD  But Owen Wilson’s in it, so… Broken nose time!

Kites

<

I think I’ve mentioned this before, but on Tuesday after 2-D, Kait and I are going down to Penn’s Landing to fly our kites. I’m a little scared because I’ve never flown a kite before AND I don’t want my kite to end up in the Delaware River. The final step for me is to tie the string on there now… I just need to remember where I stuck the diagrams.

I really need a clay knife. I hope Michaels has one because if not, then I have to go to Utrecht on Monday and get another fetting knife… for eight dollars. >:[ I want to get this clay thing done at home! Like, I did #3 over again last night with my plastic clay modeling kit, but…it’s crap. It looks like crap, it feels like crap, and it smells like crap (it’s not the knife’s fault). BEWARE: Roma Plastelina smells REAL bad, especially the gray/green kind. The white kind isn’t as bad as the gray/green stuff, but it’s not exactly peach-smelling.

Ally needs me to print out her 2-D project for her. I agreed to since she’s my friend, but I hope other people don’t come to me for that. x__x I don’t mind helping, but I’m not the school’s imaging center, y’know? The sixth floor can handle that — the graphics lab… Only difference is they charge money. Haha, Ally said she’d repay me in supcakes (cupcakes…long story) if I wanted. That’s okay, I don’t need repayment. I just thought that was funny.

My dad gave me birthday money out of guilt this morning. -__-* “I feel bad when I don’t have anything for you for your birthday or Christmas.” Dad, I’m 19, not 9. It’s O-KAY. He then scolded with me for arguing with him. LOL Not, like, a mad scold, but the kind of scold that makes you giggle.

Um… random, off-topic question: What exactly does “Animato” mean? Yes, it’s an Utada reference. Speaking of music, my Audioscrobbler really hates the music I listen to because it messes up all of the names. I mean, it scrobbles correctly, but in display as a widget, it’s so bad. For example, at the moment I’m listening to Namie Amuro’s SAY THE WORD. Growl presented it to me as You Got Me Good by LOVE PSYCHEDELICO. Okay, a couple of reasons why that’s wrong: You Got Me Good is a Bonnie Pink song; LOVE PSYCHEDELICO is NOT the translation for every Japanese artist’s name. For some reason, whenever I play a song by -say- Ayumi Hamasaki, it can’t display the Kanji, so it just slaps on LOVE PSYCHEDELICO. -__-* It’s so dumb. I tried disposing of it and reinstalling it, but it’s just…that way. lol

I have kites to walk work on.

Not sure why my pictures appear upright in the browse box, and then upload sideways… That’s one of the mysteries of a Mac, I suppose.

Sorry Laptop, You Tiger Now

<

Greetings,

I am writing to advise you about Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard), Apple’s new
operating system upgrade.

Academic Computing has engineered our current Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) software
template to function in an especially stable manner, and this is the
software template that has been released to our clients for use in Fall 2007
and Spring 2008.

We do not recommend that individuals upgrade to the newly released Mac OS X
10.5 (Leopard) operating system.

Any major problems or software impairment caused by upgrading to Leopard
will be resolved by backing up a client’s data, reformatting their
computer’s hard drive and restoring the original software template provided
with their system for Fall 2007, along with their user data.

While Leopard’s set of new features is impressive, it is a newly released
and untested product for University of the Arts purposes.

Many publishers of the software currently installed on Anytime/Anywhere
Creativity and Faculty/Staff computers have not yet fully tested their own
software with Leopard, and therefore cannot assure their software will
function correctly with the new operating system.

The University of the Arts will provide an engineered upgrade to the new
operating system and software packages for the start of Fall 2008 to all AAC
participants, as well as for computer systems provided by the University to
Faculty & Staff.

Until that time, we will continue to support our existing Mac OS X 10.4
(Tiger) software template as the standard for UArts use.

Cordially,

Ken Kramar

Basically, don’t eff up your laptop or else they’ll actually have to do something. ;)

I’m having a Starbucks craving — point for the dormers. Dormers can just get up, walk a little way and be at either the Starbucks in that condo/apartment/hotel thingy OR they can be at the Starbucks on the corner of Broad and Pine. If I want Starbucks, I have to get in my car, drive to the Black Horse Pike, and navigate my way into the plaza’s parking lot.

The score: 7-6, commuters still ahead.

Sweet, Sweet 19 Blues…

Okay, um, wow. This morning I had 5 emails in my primary email account. I check it now and there are 29 messages there. WHAT?

All of them bear the same message: Happy birthday.

:) Thanks, everyone.

(Especially you, Nicole. Thanks for having the people sing in 3-D and not anywhere else… Just don’t get any ideas on Tuesday, okay?)

PizzaAnyway, since Ms. Johnson was MIA for the day (some conference thingy), the foundation office lady came in and left a green pad for all of us to sign. Ally and Illyssa and them signed EVERYONE in…even those that didn’t bother to show up. XD Hm. And at one point I went to my locker for something and when I came back I was pelted with “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR MICHELLE, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOOOOOOU~!” Ahh, and then Ryan was like, “Okay, who wants pizza??” Everyone was kind of unresponsive, so he goes, “Well I want pizza, so let’s go!” Kaitey, Lindsay, and Ryan left to go to Starbucks then to Paolo’s to get pizza. Haha. So random, so fun. You know if Ms. Johnson were around, we’d all be sitting there playing with that dumb Plastelina clay. Not that Ms. Johnson isn’t awesome, because she totally is… it’s just…without her there’s more freedom. And pizza. :D

On Tuesday Kaitlin and I are going to Penn’s Landing to fly our kites. Mine will probably end up in the Delaware River. XD In that case, I was instructed not to go near it and to instead take a photograph of it in the water.

Don’t get Kaitlin mad…

Pho Shizzle, Pt. 2

<

After we met up with Ben and Kait, we went out to 10th St. and walked toward the arch. I pointed out to Ben that it was yellow. He said it was always yellow. I said it was always red. The truth is… I don’t remember what color it was before they repainted it. XD Sad, considering I’ve been going there since I was little. Anyway, we walked in the rain (it was mild) to Pho 75. There are now three locations in Philly! :D We sit down and look at the menu. All of us have eaten there before except for Jamie, so Jamie was looking at the menu, confused. XD I told her, since she doesn’t have a tongue for a lot of things, to go for either the beefball pho or the chicken pho.

A few minutes after we were done ordering, guess who walks in? NUREFSAN! Yay! She found us! Oh it was so nice. The only problem was since she didn’t eat meat (she’s a Muslim), she really couldn’t order anything except for the drinks and dessert. So she ordered a fresh lemon soda and a Me + Nuridessert drink (jelly squares and tapioca pearls in a pink sauce with coconut milk). We had fun talking and laughing. Ben was most amusing. When you order pho at a pho restaurant, you often times get a dish with vegetables on it. (Bean sprouts, limes, and basil leaves.) Well, of course we devoured the limes. I took one, Lauren took one, and Kait took one. Ben took all three. XD So Ben and I are the same in where we take the lime, squeeze the juice out into the soup, then toss the remaining peel into the soup as well. Well… Apparently three wasn’t enough for him so he asked for more limes. XD The server came out with a bowl of two whole limes, cut into quarters. We all laughed at Ben for that.

Ben n KaitSo here it was, the full Asian (Ben), the two half Asians (Kait and me), the black “Asian” (Lauren), the Turk (Nuri), and…Jamie. XD Kait and Jamie ate with forks, while the rest of us (minus Nuri) ate with chopsticks. :3 Fun.

PHOWhen we were done, we went to pay and got separate bills. This old, random Vietnamese man comes up behind us and yells, “DID YOU LEAVE A TIP?!” >> It was so random. I don’t think we did. We forgot, it wasn’t intentional. Anyway, we left and Lauren and Nuri walked straight while we turned the corner to get back on Tenth. I had wanted to stop at this Chinese media store, but Jamie, Ben, and Kait had to go to class. They were running late (five minutes to get to Terra and Anderson), but they insisted on going in the store with me. (I don’t have class until 5:30 on Thursdays.) I told them that they were already late, but they wouldn’t listen, saying it didn’t matter. So we went in and I went ballistic when I found the Japanese import section. (It’s not even worthy of being called a section…it was just a small cardboard box with CDs in it. xD) I pulled out the following:

SMILE
L’Arc~en~Ciel - SMILE

KHII OST
Kingdom Hearts II Original Soundtrack

DECADE
Neon Genesis Evangelion: DECADE

Two soundtracks and an album. AWESOME. Cost me $42, roughly, but it was worth it. The NGE soundtrack and the L’Arc~en~Ciel album were $12 each (cheap for import albums!) and the KHII OST was $24 because it was a double disc soundtrack. ^__^ I may go back some other time and get another soundtrack, since that’s pretty much all they have left. OSTs from NARUTO, Samurai Champloo, etc. I would LOVE to see an OST from Revolutionary Girl Utena. Sweet, sweet nineteen blues…Tada sugite yukuyo de kitto minitsuite yukumono~ SWEET,SWEET 19 DREAMS~ RIZUMU AN DOBURUSU marude mainichi no youna SUTAIRU…
