Weekend Song

<

Guess whose birthday it is today! Go on guess!……………..it’s me, genius. Anyway, I got a haircut yesterday. That was a bad idea since I didn’t really know what I wanted. I just gave her a small description, and let the lady go for it. I’ll post a picture in a second. So now, I’m borrowing my roommate’s gel until I can get it fixed. I’m inviting everybody over my dorm tonight. I’m definately gonna have to post about that too.

Ok, so, everybody came and went. Awesome night. I’m sick of papa john’s pizza now, but i’ll be hooked on it again soon I’m sure. Anyway, I had an old friend come over that I haven’t seen since middle school. I’ve known him since preschool. We made movies together all the time, and talked about how we both felt we never belonged where we lived. Anyway, he moved, and we kind of lost connection around middle school. What’re the odds I find him here? We were both really excited to see each other, and we had a helluva lot of catching up to do.

Even my roommate joined in on the party in the dorm. I assumed he knew he was invited since he kinda lives here….anyway, he seemed to hit it off really well with my friends, which i was really surprised because he doesn’t look like someone who would enjoy that kind of company.

That friday, I went home and continued my four-day birthday celebration. Who else better to hang with than my parents? These people have been my best friends all my life. They got me a record player (which i needed because i had all these records at my dorm), and an awesome poster. My dad also gave him all of the records that I liked. So now, my roommate probably hates Billy Joel haha.

I spent the weekend down the shore with my parents and girlfriend. This is a picture of me and her.photo-123.jpg I’m really thankful to have a girl like her, because she puts up with a LOT of garbage that I do.

Oh, and about my hair…photo-227.jpg

Yeah, I hated it. It wasn’t me at all. So, I went to my life-saver back home, and she cut it really short, but I think it looks great now. I’ll try to get a good picture posted sometime soon.

I had to come back to Philly early though because of my internship at WXPN. In general, though, I had a pretty awesome birthday.

Leave a Tender Moment Alone

Ok, well, I’m going to tell you a really awful story. I apologize in advance, and the only way I can probably get away with this is by saying that I hope you all learn something from this.

Well, for those of you who have not seen their dorms yet, the toilets are quite nice. The only problem is, they have very small holes in the center. If one does not drink enough water over the course of the day, doing certain bodily functions might prove difficult to flush. Having just stepped out of the shower, I began to brush my teeth. I turned and noticed that the toilet had been making odd sounds, but i decided it was nothing since it was my first week here, and I was not acquainted with everything. In the middle of my brushing, I began to hear running water. First instinct is to check the faucet. Nope. It wasn’t the sink. With a bit of a yelp, I dropped my toothbrush and tried to shut off the water. The water was coming out the side of the toilet, and turning the little knob didn’t work. I cussed several times and threw my clothes off the floor before they became lily pads.

After cursing several times, I dashed to the door to find my RAs. Another lesson you should learn. Always carry your keys on you. Once I realized I had forgotten my keys, I ran back to my dorm, only to just miss the door closing. After much more cussing, I slammed myself into the door, trying to open it. It was locked. I slammed myself into the door a few more times, just to get the anger out of my system.

Another lesson to learn: I immediately ran to the elevator after my arm felt numb. I pushed the button to go down about fifty times, and I’m not joking. I was standing there, waiting for the (darn) elevator to come up while my dorm is both locked and flooding. I ran down the steps in a panic. Five floors just didn’t seem that bad at the time.

It wasn’t until I arrived at the security desk downstairs that I’d realized that I was indeed shirtless. And, of course, three of the hottest girls in my building happened to be standing there, waiting for the elevator. Panting, I described my dire situation to the security guard, and he called someone over to help me. We went into the elevator all together. There I am, shirtless, mouth still tasting of toothpaste because I didn’t have time to rinse, and unashamed with the hot girls, and the big security guy. I whip out my phone and text one sentence to my dear parents who are always hoping to hear from me. “Boy, do i have a story for u when this is over”.

The security guy helped me into my dorm, and plumbers were called in. The security guard managed to put a trash can next to the toilet to sustain the water. Why didn’t I think of that?

Four plumbers were called in. All of them with different ethnicity, talking about the same idiot who clogged his toilet. The Spanish plumber, who I took a liking to, continued to plunge the toilet, all the while screaming “ADIO, IT’S A BIG DOODIE! THAT’S A BIG DOODIE!” (cisco, i’m so sorry.) The white plumber kept shaking his head with an apologetic grin on his face, saying “Ok, ok, ok.”

Thankfully, a wet vac was used to soak up the rest of the water, and I spent the rest of the morning cleaning my bathroom.

I’ve Loved These Days

<

Hey, you got a second?

Ok, so, at first, there was nothing to do here. My first day, literally, was filled with nothing but food and calling friends from home. My roommate, however, is awesome. He is a very nice guy, and he has a different lifestyle than i do, but he’s a lot like me, believe it or not.

The second day here, they gave us our orientation groups and gave us an AMAZING labtop!!! This thing is awesome. My roommate, Andrew, and I can’t believe they’re ours. They are truly amazing. We’re able to run wherever we want, stealing wireless internet service from random places. (well, borrowing) The battery life is amazing, and we’ve been enjoying our freedom.

I managed to meet a few friends. One, sadly, was kicked out of his dorm. (a lesson well learned about fighting on campus) One of them is Jess. Here is a picture with her.

This picture was taken atop the glorious hamilton hall. You guys will love that place. It’s real easy to get to, and you can just meet people.

So, as things picked up, i decided to throw a small get together here. (the day before class started, which was not a good idea…dont do that….) It was nothing big, but it was fun. I called a bunch of people from home, and they had a great time here. Eventually, we just began knocking on doors on our floor, inviting people over my place that night. it was fun, and we all enjoyed it.
