Its finally starting to get nice in Philadelphia and I’m taking full advantage of the warm weather. With the nice weather Furness is back to being wide open. Everyone has their windows open and the trees in the court yard have these beautiful flowers on them. Unfortunately our teachers aren’t giving us to much free time with all the final projects we have to do. I have essays, projects, tests to study for, its safe to say we’ll be under some stress before I hop on that plane back to Boston.

At least Love Park is nice…

So I’m back at school, spring break was way to fast. Its ridiculous how much homework you get to do over it too. Its not much of a break if you have to do homework every single day, lucky for me I don’t really care if I never sleep, so I only worked on my homework from the hours of 2am to 6am, so that I could have a life. Mostly I just hung out with all those people back home that make me love my life, and went to a few shows, cause nothing says home like going to the ICC and seeing 5 bands for $12. Is it sad that I didn’t want to come back? I wanted an additional week so bad.

We also hid midterms right before break, and I think I did pretty good, so hopefully I did. And one last thing, I did not get housing for next semester, the dorm situation at this school is kinda wack in the sense that there are freshman that live in Juniper, and that thats the only dorm building upper classman can live in. It looks like theres going to be quite a few homeless kids next year.

So yesterday, which also happend to be valentines day we had our first snow day. I’m not gonna lie, it was pretty amazing. I spent the entire day in my pj’s just watching tv and being a bum. Its also the time of year when I guess were supposed to be deciding what were going to do about housing next semester, and I guess only freshman are guaranteed housing which seems really lame to me because I don’t know how I will go about getting an appartment. Its not like the dorms where I can just take out a school loan and use that to pay, I think I’d have to get a job which would really cut into my homework time. Hopefully I’ll just get lucky and get picked for that lottery.

Thaaaats right, everyone at UART’s is back and ready for another semester before an amazing summer break. I’m taking an extra class this semester and my schedual is pretty crappy but its not that bad because all my classes are pretty great. The cool thing about multimedia is that unlike most other majors we get to pretty much decide when we want to take certian classes, so that gives us freedom right from the get go. Motion Graphics Studio is so far my favorite class, its just like one of those classes that if you interested in sitting in on a class before you make a decision, make sure its this one. Its just chock full of goodness.

My winter break was insanly fun, it was so good to be back in MA with all those kids I grew up with, as much fun as I have in Philly nothing can compare to your home town and those crazy late nights with those that know you best. Also its been snowing like crazy here, its not sticking very much but its snowed a good 3 times this week alone. Hopefully there will be even more where that came from.

So my laptop crashed on me a few weeks ago and I lost all of my work and everything else that was on there. Luckily I had a few backup’s, but not many. Anywaaaay’s going home for Thanksgiving was the most amazing thing that’s happened in awhile. I love my hometown so much, and despite what people may tell you, you are going to miss it if you’ve been away from it for 3 months. I got to see all of my friends and my family and all 7 of my siblings, it was pretty rad I won’t lie.

I’m still in the process of getting everything to work on my new computer (which is a mac book pro.) I still need to hook my camera up to it, and start transferring the few things that I didn’t loose over to it, like my music and pictures and such. I also need to find someone who can hook it up with a copy of Microsoft office, or at least word so I can type up my writing homework.

Thats it for now kids, I’ll keep you posted on how operation getting Jeff’s digital life back is going.

My friend from home came up to visit me a few days ago and we’ve been doing nothing but chill. We went to go see Hellogoodbye with Cute Is What We Aim For at the electric factory and it was terrible. For some reason parents just let all their little 10 year olds run wild on a school night and all they do is push and shove and kick to try and get to the stage. It was the worst show I’ve ever been to. Its really freaking annoying because we all paid the same amount of money and because of the non-stop shoving and knocking people to the ground to trample them I could not even enjoy CIWWAF. I feel like I wasted my money because of immature little kids that haven’t even hit puberty yet. At least HGB put on a good show as always which I enjoyed from the back so I could actually listen to the music.

So its midterm time here at UART’s. Its crazy how fast they came, I feel like I’ve barley been here and already my first semester is half way over. My midterms weren’t all that bad, for the most part I did decent and my worst grade was a C. Other than that not to much has been going on, all my teacher’s are still giving me tons of homework so that keeps me pretty busy.

Halloween is right around the corner and I’m so pumped. Furness is doing this decorate your door thing and who’s ever door is the best wins a prize, so far me and my roomates haven’t done anything, but a few kids on our floor did their doors up nice.

So Tower Records is going out of business, but before they are done they had Valencia play a free show at there store on Broad Street. It was amazing kids, I was so close and they played almost their entire cd including “The Space Between” and “Tenth Street” which is about the tenth street here in philly. Then after they played they signed posters, and talked to all us kids that were there, it was so cool. I love free shows. Also Fred, one of the members from Cute Is What We Aim For was there, so I talked to him for a little, took a picture with him and just hung out.

One downside to college life is that when one person gets sick, it is proven fact that everyone else in the school is bound to catch some strand of the virus. I got mine via a roomate that was infected. I’ve had this icky cold thing for like 3 days now, and its just a bunch of sneezing and head ache’s and basic cold stuff. I’ve been keeping up on my fluids and sleep so I’m starting to get better.

Its October now and you would think that means its getting colder when in reality today it was 80 degrees. This wierd temperature is probably not helping my health at all, but I love the warm weather so I’ll take what I can get. Its so weird to me that were already getting close to mid terms. Back in high school mid terms weren’t until December, but I guess thats what happens when you have 2 semesters instead of four terms. You finish thigns alot faster. Its almost like your covering 2 years of high school in one year.

Okay well I really just wanted to vent that I’m sick, and now that I’ve done that I’m gonna bounce. I have Visual Communications in like half an hour so I should probably get over to the Terra Building. PEACE!

The multimedia department has this trip to New York that they sponser once a semester. Its free and you just get to walk around the city and have some fun with your friends. Mostly me and the kids I was with stayed around the west side of the city near all these art gallerys. We also ate lunch and dinner in the city. We went to this little pizza place which had really big slices of pizza. The bus ride was probably the worst part, we got stuck in traffic coming from Philly, and on the way back to Philly which added almost an hour each way.

All in all it was a good day. Also the trip is open to anyone, not just multimedia, so next time everyone should sign up. On the other side of things homework is getting intense, I get a good 6 hours of homework a night. I know alot of kids that are already falling behind because they think parting is more important than school. Don’t let that happen to you kids.
